Generally very happy with our stay. It was clean, staff were friendly (including retrieving my wandering father in law who has alzheimers) and it was handy to family. Our breakfast we ordered to our room was somewhat minimal though but staff tried to rectify that issue. It was hard with stairs leading to the lifts as we had our elderly parents but that was a minor issue which is out of your control. We felt the amount we paid was very fair and we enjoyed our dinner in your restaurant (even though it was a little slow).
Cute place, looks the part.
rooms not very sound proof could hear neighbours and room above. Poor lighting for putting on make up etc.
tidy, comfortable, reliable, shame about the idiots outside that kept me awake, but no issues with the hotel.
Not much - this is one of those hotels that don't perk your interest when you revisit the city.
The physical structure of the hotel is quite different. Things are quite compact and there is not much space in the rooms (even though I did have two beds) or hotel. I guess the type of building has impacted upon the dimension of certain rooms. This sort of hotel appeals to two types of people: those who like quirky, and those who don't. I don't like quirky.
Quiet location. Clean & tidy room. Nice restaurant to breakfast in the following morning.
Lack of carparking at the actual hotel made it slightly difficult for me to transport my gear to and from hotel, and also left me slightly worried about leaving my car parked on side street in unfamiliar area.
most things and the bar and coffee area was very peaceful and relaxing and cosy in the morning
not worth commenting because it was not adverse just things in the room & bathroom need to be upgraded and better air flow in warmer weather
Heritage facade on building and walking distance to centre of town. Staff were helpful and well informed.
Room was cramped, very warm, no air conditioner and the fan provided did not work. No view at all. Location was great but very disappointed with our room there.
Greatr service from front office, bar and restaurant staff and the Duty Manager Tony was just great- nothing I wanted was a problem at all
Location is good.
Rooms are very small - hate to see a standard room. Very noisy with guests in hallways the nights we were there.
The location was really good and close to town. The staff were lovely, the service great and the room was amazing.
The restaurant offered a good selection of dishes and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff were very good, the restaurant satisfactory and room service low key. The hotel was well situated for our needs in the city
Bed was too hard
Great upmarket hotel with an excellant rate, strongly recommend
A good central hotel for the city.Excellent reception staff that are very helpful and friendly.Nice, clean, comfortable, rooms and very quite for a cental city hote.l
The Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a great selection. The room was spacious and fantastic shower, great water pressure. I loved the decor, it was quiet and relaxing. Once my daughter has started studying in Dunedin, I look forward to staying at Mercure again. Thanks
No really a complaint, room was abit cold on arrival but they didn't know what time we were arriving. It warmed up really quickly and was very cosy.
